Thank you for your purchase. We are committed to quality products, ethical values and real customer service. We hold the awareness that climate, which is key to our survival on the planet, is shifting greatly. In attempting to find ways to move forward on a more ecologically sustainable path, we choose our vendors and products carefully, buying less from suppliers and manufacturers that have not as yet developed an eco-conscious and humanistic culture, and more from places where they pride themselves on the way they treat the earth and the people on it. If we know that animals are harmed in the manufacture of a product, we don't buy it. We on-goingly work on a values for a spiritual, fair and just lifestyle, and every decision we now make is more determined by these factors than ever before. The long and short of this is we have our own 'cottage/farm' industry, making green/eco friendly products, which are exclusive, beautiful, life enhancing, spiritual, unique, difficult to source, local, and if supplied from outside Australia, they meet the requirements of using no child labour and follow all their local environmental and labour laws.
As Australians, we are first worlders, consuming more than our share of energy and other world resources; our taxes support a prison system and a military budget and we might be seen to be wasteful as a nation. However, while we realise that we have a long way to go, we believe that we are taking steps in the right direction. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. We will work with you directly to resolve any problems, within the limits of the warrantyotherwise applicable to the product. We welcome your feedback and any comments and suggestions you may have for us in this regard and encourage your to support and patronage in our store online and/or in person.

Shanti Yoga seeks to contribute meaningfully to the field of plant medicine and sustainable living, and offers valuable medicines and products to help you build health, stay healthy, and grow in your capacity to live more naturally and engage with our community in meaningful ways.

Your cells must have balanced nutrition to perform their functions. It is essential that we feed them correctly with all the essential and non-essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fats, carbohydrates and water, as recommended by our western sciences. The science of life, Ayurveda reminds us that the brain deciphers the universe encoding herself as taste. Ayurveda classifies six essential tastes (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, astringent). Ayurveda also teaches about their potencies, thermal qualities, energetics and properties, such as heaviness or lightness, moistness or dryness, smoothness or roughness and so on, together with post-digestive effects which are factored towards the balanced nutrition of an individual. Ayurvedic products that assist you achieve all six tastes include:

  • Peace Food: Body and Soul Vegan Meals
  • Nirvana Breakfasts
  • Nirvana Chai

Our fresh, free range eggs are laid by healthy hens that roam freely over natural pastures during the daylight hours, have cooking scraps and forrage in the vegetable gardens (not always enjoyed by the gardeners), drink Nirvana pure and natural spring water, and then rest safely in their pen at night to protect them from predators and the elements.

Only oxygen is more essential than water in sustaining the life of all organisms. Respiration, digestion, assimilation, metabolism, elimination, waste removal and temperature regulation are bodily functions that can only be accomplished in the presence of water. Water is essential for dissolving and transporting nutrients such as oxygen and mineral salts via the blood, lymph and other bodily fluids. Water also keeps the pressure, acidity and composition of all chemical reactions in equilibrium.

Pure, natural, premium quality, Nirvana spring water, with absolutely no chemicals added, is delivered to your home or office free. The water is extracted directly at the source of  Nirvana’s natural spring in the pristine 70 acre property, in Beechmont. The water is sweet. It has not been pumped through lots of pipes and stored in lots of tanks (=contamination risk!) and there is no chlorine after taste that you get with supplied town water.

Yoga instructors lead individuals in the correct execiution of yoga postures and movements in a class and/or one-to-one setting. They may be called upon to work for a variety of employers, such as yoga studios, gyms and fitness centers. They must provide their class with instructions on poses and conduct demonstrations as needed, as well as provide individual guidance to students related to their poses and technique. The yoga instructor must ensure that the class environment is positive and encouraging for new and experienced students, as well as ensure that the class is safe and all participants follow safety rules.

Yoga instructors are provided with a fully develop a curriculum from which they may plan individual classes. However, some employers have a pre-determined curriculum. Students may range in age from pre-schoolers to older adults. Depending on the classes they teach, yoga instructors may need knowledge on how to work with specific age groups, and Certificate IV provides training in instructing Yoga to Children, Diploma of Yoga teaching, general yoga and Advanced Diploma of Yoga, training in master classes. Yoga instructors must be able to use all necessary equipment, as well as be able to instruct students on their proper use.

Yoga instructors need a thorough understanding of the type of yoga that they practice and are engaged to teach, and they must have the physical ability to demonstrate poses and provide students with verbal and demonstrable guidance. There is generally no educational requirement for yoga instructor positions, although a high school diploma or equivalent is generally required and preferred. Yoga certifications, insurances and/or CPR certification is required as well.

  • Help participants by tailoring the class to their individual abilities and needs.
  • Ensure a safe class environment, informing participants of safety rules and monitoring participants throughout the class.

The initiatives are inspired by the perspectives of Shanti Gowans who says:

Healthy and sustainable transformation of outer structures begins with the discovery of natural inner resources and capacities of individuals to be of service.

Nothing stands still. The answer is simple, yet profound. The truth about change is that there are no fixed answers. One time this might feel appropriate, another time it may not. To go with the flow, you may need to go against the grain. Just be still and present with each experience.

We must reach within first, in order to embrace humanity. Generosity is the key to infinite abundance. When we value and share the natural, inner wealth of peace, love, happiness and wisdom, we can experience true and lasting prosperity.

The future, i.e. creation, is based upon the opposite of war, which is destruction. Give peace a chance. Only when we make peace with ourselves can we hope to make peace with and in the world.

Respect the life and dignity of every living being without discrimination or prejudice.

Reject violence in all of its forms and towards all beings.

Resolve conflict with grace and graciousness.

Reconcile differences and pursue harmony.

Support freedom of expression and cultural diversity.

Be kind and generous. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier.

Be blessed, Shanti Gowans
