In service

The kinds of seeds that we plant now help to direct growth, blossoming and fruiting later. As we tend the seeds we plant, we might just motivate our loved ones to plant seeds of their own, contributing to their own growth and to that on the planet.

Environmental Education Excursions

CHILDREN IN NATURE
Our children have become increasingly alienated from nature. Camping under the stars or in the bush, climbing trees, collecting bugs, picking wildflowers, running through long grass are among some of our childhood memories. However, for a whole generation of todays's children, the pleasure of free-range childhood is missing, and their indoor habits contribute to epidemic obesity, attention-deficit disorder, isolation and childhood depression. Our children are the first generation to be raised without meaningful contact with the natural world.

At Nirvana Wellness Retreat nature surrounds us and embraces us all, and can help you too, if you would only let it. Nirvana Wellness retreat is a place of exquisite beauty and healing tranquility. It's healing message is about connection to nature. The raw elements of earth, water, fire, air and space are up front in the natural landscape. It is within this elemental world that a 'nature adventure' is offered. Here are hands-on, eco-educational, nature teaching presentation areas, undercover picnic areas and lots more, all within the 70-acre outdoor “classroom” just waiting to be explored!

Nirvana Educational Excursions are a great way to bring nature and sustainability education out of the classroom and into the practical experience of today’s generation of youth leaders. We spend all day in the natural landscapes, regardless of weather, stopping somewhere to eat our bag lunches. Nature is as important to children as food and sleep, much like outdoor play itself. In nature a child finds freedom and genuine creativity

The aim is to help youth

  • touch the earth and get in touch with nature
  • appreciate the many different realities that exist in our world
  • experience sustainable living systems and processes as well as i
  • be inspired to be responsible for their position as caretakers of the planet
  • provide opportunity to reflect on, and discuss, how nature can be a metaphor for how we live in family, community and society.
