Families and Childrens Yoga Camp

Where the trees are the walls
the dirt is the floor
the ceiling is the sky
and the lights are the sun, moon and stars.
Bringing together the young global sangha, Creating space for people to connect,
and to influence pathways of the human mind

The nature of parenting is an enormous responsibility and a spiritual practice in itself.
We want our children to develop inner strength, clarity, serenity, nobility and compassion. The most direct and effective way they can do this is to live daily with these qualities, manifested in their parents and teachers. Families need to work together to spread the light.
Children also need free time to run in the wind, to play ball games, to sing around a camp fire, to sit quietly. Join us at Nirvana Retreat Centre, where we as a community will come together to enjoy the wholistic environment of togetherness.     Shanti Gowans
Our Yoga Families and Childrens' camps explore how the Shanti Yoga teachings can help parents and children live together with open hearts and the natural wisdom that resides within all of us. Shanti Yoga parents and Shantiji lead this camp.

Shantiji's quote from PEACEFUL WARRIOR at Kidz Winter Camp:

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its labourers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.
Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1953
